- This forum is a relaxed contrast to challenges. Its just a bit more chilled. Where challenges are for the intense mortal combat of sculpting against a timeline here you want to grab a beer or a glass of wine and share your process and your results.

Hi everyone!
I just recently started sculpting in ZBrush and have watched some videos on this site. Currently I am an undergraduate studying sculpture in California. My ultimate goal is to make some great sculptures using ZBrush and get into the computer graphics/arts fields.
I started this head last night, and was hoping for some critique and advice on it. Don't beat around the bush either, all criticism is welcome, it make me a better sculptor!
Also, how do you get the pictures to be in a thumbnail? I saw that in other threads.

Welcome Lawerence!
Looking at what you have here, you have really removed that's a really steep slope from the eye socket down the cheek. The structure to hold the eye in place is not there. Clean up the cheek area and just think in "planes". If there is a lump or a line then there must be a reason for it. Define the eye socket and the transitions it has with the front and side planes of the face. Outside of that the proportions are not bad, the nose needs some more time fleshing out.
Keep the progress coming!

Thanks for the feed back!
I see what you mean and agree that its lacking in structure, Im really not too comfortable with eyes yet, which is why they are still empty sockets, but I'll get some references and watch some how to's and work on them.
I'll work on the eyes tonight at post my progress with that area.

Continuing on with my WIP tonight, taking the feed back that I got so far, I did the eyes and moved around the mouth, cheek bones, brow, and nose. All feed back is very much appreciated!
I still have to finish the eyes a bit and do the ears entirely.

I like these changes Lawrence. Can you tell me what that hard line below the eye is?
