Getting Started R2

#5909 6 months, 1 week ago
Got myself signed up for the workshops and gotten through the first part of the R2 Getting Started stuff. Saved all the stuff individually, but didn't really have any questions during it since it was just like follow along and do this type of stuff, so just going to upload the final result for that. Definitely the most detailed thing I've done in ZBrush since I've never really known what I was doing. I find the results encouraging considering I don't know a lot of the anatomy and some stuff is kind of wonky.

Side of the head doesn't have perspective on, front does.

Looking good. A few notes:

The masseter originates at the angle of the jaw and inserts into the zygomatic. It also forms the break from the front of the face to the side of the face. Your masseter, instead, is more of a recessed area.

The eyes should be 1 eye apart from each other. I would just seperate the caruncula's further apart.

Thanks. Not really sure how to correct the masseter at this point, might got back and see what you did with it. But I'll do something about that eye spacing.

Hoping that's the right change to the masseter. Think I got it to be more of a plane than a recession, which I'm hoping corrects the issue. Changed the eye spacing as well.

Edit: Uploaded the wrong image.

Got started on the Zombification, texturing it is taking awhile and I'll probably be working on it for awhile still.

Edit: Did some more work on it. Made it more subtle. I just didn't feel like I was making any progress when I was trying to slowly build it up, just seemed like I'd do something and then it completely disappeared. So I did a lot of extreme stuff (the original image I uploaded) with Clay Buildup and then went over it very lightly with really light strokes to tone it down. Probably still do some more to it, but I think I need to start moving on to the next part soon.

Edit 2: Ended up doing a lot more to it than I planned. Did a lot of the skin texture by hand because I wasn't happy with a lot of the results from the post processing. The forehead came out great, but the rest I either touched up or pretty much redid. Was going to do more damage to the face, but I'm feeling the need to move on to the next part. Know it wasn't in there, but sprayed dots on a separate layer and smoothed them out to see how it would break up light.

Started on the body portion of the zombie. Think I followed the proportions pretty closely, but the body seems a bit puny with that head on it to me, not sure if that's how 7 heads is supposed to look though. Something just looks a bit off to me.

Also haven't really started on the hair yet. Got the hair cap on, but really didn't want to fiddle with it until the neck was in place.

Had always wondered why Ryan did the hands in that position, but so far it seems like it's easier to put the fingers in place like that.
